Bereavement Cafe Dog Walk

katietrinder

Since July of last year we have been running a Bereavement cafe at Mansfield and District Crematorium. We meet the first Monday of the month and it has been incredible. Right from the beginning, we knew that a weekday wouldn't suit everybody, so the plan has always been to add to what we do.

The first thing we are adding is a Bereavement Cafe dog walk. We thought this would be a great opportunity to get together on a Saturday and get some fresh air.

I find that dog walking is a really social thing anyway, I think I know the people I see on my morning dogwalk by their dog's names, I'll always stop for a chat with Deano's dad, I wondered where Maisie's mum had been, turns out she'd been on holiday and Joey's dad has had to give in and buy an extendable lead, because Joey has a tendency to not want to go home after his walk.

You chat about all sorts of things!

Animals help people open up, so even if you haven't got your own dog, but you fancy coming along, then please do.

We will meet at 11am in Berry Hill Park, the carpark near the cafe and then we will have a gentle walk around the park. Feel free to go at your own pace.

All we ask is that you're respectful of other people and their dogs. If your dog has a tendency to get over excited by other dogs, then maybe keep them on a lead.

Hopefully there'll be more events we will be able to offer over the coming months, but if you have any questions, then feel free to email me, katiethecelebrant@gmail.com or contact us via our Facebook page.

As someone who has 7 dogs, I just need to decide which one I'm going to bring! Mabel is normally the best behaved of the Furry Ts!
